Bible Reading
Bible Reading
Vintage Church is committed to read the Bible together! While many of us want to read the Bible, we have no idea where to begin or we simply think it’s an impossible task. But with a desire to do it and with help from the right tools, we can read the Bible consistently. Vintage Church aims to consistently read the Bible together using various resources and Bible Reading Plans.
Along with Bible-reading plan, we are also committing to journal through our Bible reading utilizing Pastor Robby Gallaty’s HEAR journal. HEAR stands for Highlight, Explain, Apply, and Respond. To learn more about the HEAR journal, check out Pastor Robby Gallaty’s blog explaining the HEAR Journal.
Let’s commit to read God’s Word together!
2023 Reading Plan
This year Vintage Church is reading the Bible with the church and for depth. Our Bible reading plan will closely follow the Revised Common Lectionary. The plan will provide 5 readings each week from the Old and New Testaments. Readings will be posted for each month.
With the Church
We’re reading with the church by following the Revised Common Lectionary. Every week churches all over the world from all different denominations follow the Lectionary, reading from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms, and Gospels.
For Depth
Less is more! Rather than try to read through the entirety of the Bible, we’re going to read smaller portions of Scripture, meditate and pray on what we’ve read, and apply the truth to our lives. So, each day you read Scripture, read slowly to understand. Read prayerfully to hear from the Lord. Read actively prepared to apply truth.
